Costa Coffee is opening a new drive-thru in Victoria Retail Park next month.
The store will replace the KFC drive-thru restaurant at the site in Netherfield, which closed earlier this year when the country went into lockdown and has not reopened since.
Plans revealing the proposed changes were submitted to Gedling Borough Council last month and the coffee giant has now confirmed it will be opening a drive-thru facility at the retail park.
The plans are yet to be formally decided on by the council and a decision is expected later this month.
The chain has announced it is coming to the area in 'early January 2021' and may replace an existing Costa Coffee very close by at Unit 3B, although this has not yet been confirmed.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “We’re excited to confirm the opening of a brand new Costa Coffee drive-thru store on Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield – coming early January 2021.
"We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.”
Drawings submitted with the application show what the proposed signs would look like if plans were approved, with the Costa logo and colour scheme replacing the existing KFC signage.
Work is currently progressing on a new Nando's restaurant and Starbucks drive-thru In Victoria Park Way at the retail park.
The development is taking place on part of the Morrisons car park after planning permission was granted in July last year.
