It is not too much longer until Chelsea are back in Premier League action.
Frank Lampard and his backroom staff have had a busy week with three new defensive additions to the squad.
Ben Chilwell joined in a £50 million deal from Leicester City and was joined at Stamford Bridge by Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva who have both arrived at the club on free transfers.
New players may be able to make their competitive debut in the first Premier League match of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion in two weeks’ time.
Ahead of that game, the Blues are having a taste of what’s to come as they play the exact same fixture as a pre-season friendly.
The match is also acting as a test event for crowds, with a few fans in attendance.
It was two players who caught the eye of Chelsea fans after just four minutes of the game when Hakim Ziyech assisted Timo Werner to put the Blues 1-0 up.
And fans were quick to show their excitement of the first-half performance of the two new arrivals.
Chelsea moved quickly to secure the signing of the duo.
Ziyech’s transfer was wrapped up back in February as Frank Lampard moved early to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
The transfer of Werner was confirmed early in the summer after the Blues agreed on a fee with RB Leipzig.
Fans will be hoping that it is the first of a memorable partnership at Stamford Bridge.
