Corstorphine High Street closed after man knocked down and injured by vehicle

A pedestrian has been knocked down and injured by a vehicle on Corstorphine High Street in Edinburgh.

The street was closed at the junction with Ladywell Road following the incident, which took place shortly before 5pm on Tuesday.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the collision.

The condition of the injured man is not yet known.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At around 4.55pm police received a report of a man struck by a vehicle. A man was taken to hospital and the road has been closed at the junction with Ladywell Road.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
