Corrie villain to return next week with big offer ahead of huge summer storyline

Coronation Street villain Damon Hay will return to the Cobbles next week - with a big offer.

Damon was last seen being carted off the Cobbles by police after Nick shopped him for his drug dealing crimes, with fans expecting that was the last that would be seen of him. However, he will return next week with an offer for some residents.

He was introduced to fans as the father of Jacob Hay, played by Jack James Ryan, but he soon turned on his own son and sent him packing, vowing he could never return again or he would be killed by Damon's associates.

However, Damon himself will be back in a few days' time - as he arrives to ask Adam and his team to represent him.

Dee Dee is still reeling after Damon's true identity was revealed amid the start of a liaison, so she will be less than impressed to see him back and wants her company to represent him. Whilst she might not be so keen, Adam is and he thinks it'll be great for the firm, at least financially, as Damon has lots of money to spend with them on his case.

Earlier this year, show boss Iain MacLeod confirmed Damon will play a key role in a big summer storyline.

"As the year goes on, Damon has a magnetic attraction for a notable high-profile female character, who ends up having her head turned. That has far-reaching consequences," he shared of the plans for the character.

The ITV soap's executive producer added of what was to come: "We're currently working on June storylines. There's a build-up and a colossal explosion in that story, involving Damon and this love story that will be on air then."

It comes after Iain revealed the chaos Damon would bring to the Cobbles.

"He's a dangerous character. At first, he might be seen as a more sophisticated operator than Harvey. What we discover in the not-too-distant future is that this polished veneer is masking something every bit as dangerous and as brutal as Harvey is," he said.

"He upends a lot of people's lives and brings criminality to the door of a family that could probably do with moving on from their past, but suddenly, wham, they are right back in the mess again. There's loads of stuff to play with as he reconnects with others."
