He made an impossible decison to help Asha as her twin brother begged for help, saying they could free his sister together.
But as Dev dragged Asha to safety away from the car the vehicle burst into flames as father and daughter looked on in horror.
Fans flocked to Twitter to blame Dev.
"Omg Dev!!! That poor boy why wouldn’t he save his son first and they’d both get the girl out," raged one.

"Oh no Aadi, Dev you idiot!" another tweeted.
"Can't believe he left his son to die," said another Corrie watcher.
Others are now hoping Aadi, 16, did manage to get out alive.
"I hope Aadi got out," said one.
"WAIT WHAT THEY DID NOT KILL AADI OFF ESPECIALLY ON A MONDAY," shouted another fan.
"I hope Aadi managed to crawl out," said another.
Dev, played by Jimmi Harkishin, struggles with his guilt after the explosion which happened as father and son were meant to be going on a bonding holiday together.
Aadi was rattled when Asha ended up coming along with them, thinking that Dev always puts her first.
