Corrie viewers predict dark abuse storyline for Asha and violent boyfriend Corey

Coronation Street viewers are convinced Asha Alahan will be manipulated by violent boyfriend Corey in upcoming scenes after he tries to bully her into covering for him to assuage suspicions that he was the one who caused Seb's death.

Corey threatened Asha and ordered her to say she was with him when Nina Lucas and Seb were attacked, giving him an alibi.

Asha agreed, and has been telling the other Weatherfield residents Corey would never have done it, even going to Nina's hospital bedside to plead his case.

But viewers have compared Corey to Geoff Metcalfe, who abused wife Yasmeen Nazir horrifically, with Asha clearly terrified to say no to him.

Nina told Asha she remembered speaking to Corey before the attack, which led to Asha suspecting why Corey was lying, and grilling him on it.

At one point, a furious Corey called Nina a "nasty little witch" before getting up and screaming in Asha's face "are you really that stupid?"

He then apologised, telling Asha she is all he has, and manipulating further by guilt tripping her over the fact she does not trust him.

But as Seb tragically died in the episode, will Asha finally realise what Corey is actually capable of - and will she tell the police?

This is not the first time Corey has been abusive, as he showed his friends explicit photos of Asha before, and has been tormenting her brother, Aadi.

One viewer tweeted: "Corey is definitely gonna be controlling towards Asha you can tell #Corrie ".

"Corey has put Asha is such a horrible position #corrie," wrote another.

A third added: "Asha knows Corey was apart of it, i just hope she doesn't go down the same road as Yasmeen did with Geoff!! #Corrie #CoronationStreet ".

A fourth defended Asha, explaining: "Don't victim blame Asha as 'silly' for not seeing through him when Corey has played on her low self esteem and exploited it for months when she thought she couldn't be loved. Blame Corey - he's the villain. #Corrie ".

"Corey is the younger Geoff Metcalf. Manipulating Asha is plain annoying now. He'll do anything to save his own skin. Take some responsibility for your horrendous actions #Corrie @itvcorrie," predicted another.

Fans heaped praise on Sally Carman's acting skills after she moved fans to tears playing Abi Franklin, who found out that her son Seb had died.

Abi collapsed on the ground sobbing in agony as she found out her son had died, in scenes that moved fans to tears.

One viewer tweeted: ""Oh, god... Abi's screams after finding out Seb was dead were absolutely haunting. Award-worthy acting from Sally Carman. #Corrie ".
