Many Coronation Street viewers found themselves pondering the same question on Wednesday night after watching Seb Franklin's murder trial unfold on the ITV soap.
The handyman, who was played by Harry Visinoni, died earlier this year after becoming the victim of a brutal hate crime alongside former girlfriend Nina Lucas.
Seb and fellow goth Nina were picked on by Corey Brent's cruel gang back in May and were attacked due to the way they dressed in horrifying scenes.
While Nina survived the heartless assault, Seb died in hospital because of his injuries.
Since the brutal attack, Nina has been trying to recall just exactly what happened that night - while his mum Abi has been working away trying to prove that Corey was behind the life-ending crime.
On Wednesday night's double bill of the ITV soap, viewers watched as Corey and Kelly Neelan give their side of the story in the witness stand in court.
Some Corrie fans were confused by the scenes - taking to Twitter to question what they had seen.
"There were two other boys involved in the attack. The ones who attacked Nina. Where are they? Have they been called as witnesses or charged with attacking Nina?" wrote one ITV viewer.
Others also questioned why the other two members of the gang weren't present too.
"Where are the other two suspects, Jay and Eli? Surely, in a murder trial, they'd have all four suspects," another wrote.
A third added: "Are Eli and the other boy not part of this trial? They should be done for GBH on Nina."
Luckily for the baffled fans, one viewer had the answer to their queries - explaining the other gang members had already pleaded guilty so that's why they were not facing trial.
They wrote: "They pleaded guilty to the attack on Nina. Just need to be sentenced. This trial is just for Corey and Kelly, to determine their guilt or otherwise."
Earlier this year, Mollie Gallagher admitted she ‘wanted to cry’ after seeing the injuries her character Nina Lucas was subjected to following the terrifying hate crime attack.
Discussing her initial reaction of the hard-hitting storyline, the young actress told The Sun : “I remember the first time I had the make-up done, I hadn't filmed any scenes yet and I'd just been rehearsing it in my mirror at home by myself. As soon as the makeup was done, I just wanted to cry.
“I remember looking at my reflection and thinking, 'Wow'. I already knew it was awful but when you're actually in it, I thought I could cry.”
The storyline echoes many similarities to the tragic murder of Sophie Lancaster in 2007, and Corrie bosses and Mollie worked closely with a foundation set up by the late 20-year-old’s mother Dr Sylvia Lancaster OBE.
Ahead of filming the scenes, Mollie carried out research and consulted with Sylvia directly to ensure her performance was as authentic and respectful as possible.
The Coronation Street star said: "All you want to do is do it justice because Sylvia has shared her story and so I wanted it to be as accurate a representation as possible."
