Corrie video teases deadly car wreck fallout and arrest as characters fight for survival

Coronation Street is set to air tense and dramatic scenes on the ITV soap next week, as a deadly car accident leaves lives on the line.

There's tipped to be an arrest in the fallout, with two other characters being led away in another clip.

Imran Habeeb and wife Toyah Battersby fight for survival after their car smashes into a brick wall, which is covered in a scaffolding structure.

A new clip has revealed the immediate aftermath of the smash, and the moment Imran realises he has to get Toyah to safety.

Toyah remains unconscious, as a trapped and injured Imran desperately calls for an ambulance and asks for help.

As he looks up at the structure, bricks and metal poles begin to rain down on the crashed car as the two remain trapped inside.

Imran pleads for help as he reveals they have to get out sooner rather than later, as the whole structure above is about to collapse.

But will the couple be okay, and can Imran get himself and Toyah to safety in time?

Spoiler pictures have shown Imran does make it out and tries to get his wife out, but viewers will have to tune in next week to find out what happens.

These particular scenes air on Wednesday night, and in the aftermath the police reveal they are suspicious about the cause.

Noting the brakes did not stop the car, they believe someone sabotaged the vehicle - and fingers are soon pointed at Abi Franklin and Kevin Webster.

Abi and Imran are embroiled in a dark battle for the custody of their baby son Alfie, after their fling in September.

Abi's estranged husband Kevin wants them to reunite, amid Abi's plan to do a runner with her son after Imran's games.

Mechanic Kevin works on Imran's car before the crash, so the police soon suspect he may have done something dodgy - which actor Michael Le Vell recently downplayed ahead of the scenes airing.

Thursday's preview clip sees both Abi and Kevin escorted to the police station by officers for questioning - but do they have something to hide?
