Corrie turns 60 as Yasmeen learns court verdict and two characters hide horror secret

Coronation Street 's 60 anniversary week will finally see Yasmeen Nazir's attempted murder trial reach its verdict.

Yasmeen (Shelley King's) harrowing storyline as she was abused by husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) gripped the nation and shone a light on am issue which only got more prevalent during the pandemic.

As the pandemic forced the storyline to be delayed, viewers have been left on tenterhooks wondering if justice will be served for Yasmeen or whether the nightmare is only just beginning for her and loyal granddaughter Alya.

Meanwhile, the soap has teased two characters battle to keep a shameful secret that will ruin their lives and those around them.

Secrets never stay secret for long on the cobbles, and as the anniversary week progresses, the web of lies and deceit they have weaved threatens to destroy them.

Plus, desperate Coronation Street residents are forced to unite together to save their home as villain Ray Crosby has purchased most of the homes and businesses in the area with a horror plan.
