Corrie teens stage sex offender protest in explosive new scenes

Coronation Street teen Amy Barlow leads a protest at Weatherfield High School in intense new soap scenes.

In snaps taken on the set of the ITV soap the teen could be seen covering a wall of school in graffiti reading 'stop protecting sex offenders.'

Amy is confronted by deputy head teacher Orla Cranshaw in the scenes.

Amy is joined at the protest by twins Aadi and Asha Alahan and Summer Spellman, who carries a placard reading 'up skirt? up yours.'

And the group of teens wear black tape over their mouths to symbolise being silenced.

Other placards include 'stop victim blaming' and 'Don't blame us.'

In another snap teacher Daniel Osbourne can be seen looking outside to find out what's going on.

It isn't yet known what leads to the protest but it's been a dramatic time for the teen characters in Weatherfield.

The young cast have been at the centre of some powerful plotlines in the soap including the brutal murder of Seb Franklin inspired by the real-life story of Sophie Lancaster who died after she and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were set up on in 2007.

And fans of the ITV soap have been watching closely as Summer has developed a crush on her teacher and neighbour Daniel.

The teen has been seeking help from Daniel with her application to Oxford University but she has mistaken his kindness for something much more.

Completely oblivious, Daniel has been continuing to help Summer while also relying on her to help look after his son Bertie.

Corrie fans have also noticed that Max Turner may be developing a crush on Summer after she began mentoring him.

Spoilers have revealed that an unsuspecting Daniel will be wrongly accused of grooming Summer after Max confronts his teacher at the school's winter ball.
