Actress Tracie Bennett has taken to social media to share an emotional message with fans as she bids farewell to the set of Coronation Street
On Friday's two episodes of the long-running soap, viewers watched evil Sharon try to con Street legend Rita into handing over £10,000 under suspect circumstances following the guilty verdict of drug boss Harvey Gaskell.
After the scenes aired on ITV, Tracie, who first had a stint on Corrie back in 1982, shared some behind the scenes snaps with her Twitter followers alongside a heartfelt caption.
"I had just shot my very last scene @itvcorrie for a while &went to dressing room to change," she tweeted regarding her selfie against the street's famous cobbles.

"All just so I could say 'Ter Ra' at this very moment. Thanks to those who know what they did for me & to haters & lovers," the 60-year-old continued.
"We do our best for everyone. See you soon. ‘Av it."
Fans and colleagues were quick to wish the award-winning actress well for the future as hundreds replied to her sign-off.
"You were a class act. Thanks for providing us with the most iconic moment of 2021," one Twitter user said, referring to Sharon's tasering of Jenny Connor back in May.
Another hoped for yet another return, writing: "Last scene "for a while"?! Please say she's going to secretly buy the Rovers with some ill gotten gains! Would love to see Jenny's face, and witness the inevitable slanging matches between you two true Corrie Queens!! x"
Jack James Ryan, who played Jacob Hay on the Manchester soap, expressed his sadness at never sharing any scenes with the star.
Replying to Tracie's tweet, the actor wrote: "Stunning job Tracie, I’m absolutely gutted our paths didn’t cross whilst on the show! I think Sharon and Jacob would’ve got on very well. Big love x"
The actress was in agreement with the former Corrie star, responding with: "Cheers luv. Yes what a shame."

Tracie, who trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, first joined the cast of Coronation Street back in 1982 where she first portrayed the scheming Sharon for two years.
She was first introduced to viewers as a 16-year-old foster child of Len and wife Rita and got into a number of scrapes and romantic mishaps before she first left the cobbles in 1984.
She briefly returned 15 years later to invite her foster mother to her wedding.
Although her return was brief, she managed to cause drama and left under a storm, with Rita telling her never to expect anything else from her in the future as she left again in 1999.
In March 2021, over two decades since she last appeared on the ITV show, it was announced that Tracie would be reprising her role of Sharon once again.
Discussing her comeback at the time, the actress said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the cobbles. It is a dream come true for me. I had such an amazing time there, and I am looking forward to working with Barbara again and getting my teeth into the storylines they have planned for Sharon."
