Coronation Street star thrills fans with 'iconic' photo following funeral scenes

Coronation Street said a final farewell to a much-loved friend at the end of last week.

Norris Cole was laid to rest in a funeral that brought more drama than you'd come to expect from the nosey neighbour.

The ITV soap legend played a few final tricks on his street pals as he requested Roy Cropper read his final letter at the funeral, led by Billy Mayhew.

One of those tricks was calling out ex-wife Mary Taylor, who he once told he'd love it if she dresses as Star Wars character Princess Leia at his funeral.

However, he only said it to stop her asking about his arrangements for when he sadly departed - and he actually thought she wouldn't be 'daft' enough to do it.

But in typical Mary fashion, she did.

After the scenes aired in a double bill on Friday, Daniel Brocklebank took to Instagram with a selfie of him in his vicar attire with Patti Clare, who plays Mary.

"I adore this woman @patti.clark5 @coronationstreet," Dan shared alongside the snap of them beaming for the camera in the summer sun.

And their Corrie co-stars were among the first to flood the post with comments.

"Look at them smiles," Kirk Sutherland actor Andy Whyment shared.

Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin, added: "Me too!" with a string of heart eye emojis.

"Mischief o’clock. I [heart emoji] U both," Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce replied.

Fans were also quick to respond.

"And I adore this iconic photo," shared one.

Another wrote: "Awww beautiful piccy."

"This brings me such joy right now," a fan added.

Another also noticed Dan's healthy glow, joking: "Do vicars go to tanning salons?"
