Corrie star says Daisy 'will never be the same' after 'dark' and 'dangerous' stalker plot

Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley may never be the same again, as her horrifying stalking ordeal escalates in the coming weeks.

Actress Charlotte Jordan said fans will witness the character change drastically, and lose who she is amid the ordeal.

Viewers recently learned who had been sending Daisy flowers and messages for weeks, with Daisy also unearthing the sender's identity for the first time.

It was revealed to be Justin, a man Daisy had met at the hospital after her cancer scare.

Justin's fascination with Daisy has reached a point where not only is he harassing her, but he believes he and Daisy are together.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Daisy actress Charlotte revealed things will get worse for the character and ultimately it leads to her changing as a person.

With Daisy being a "loud" and "flamboyant" character, Charlotte spilled that the stalking ordeal could change Daisy as she loses herself.

Charlotte said: "She feels totally isolated and is feeling totally helpless."

She added: "It was really important to do this storyline and it is clever to do it with a character like Daisy, because she's a divisive character.

"You either love her or hate her, there's not really an in-between and all the things that make her Daisy, she's extra, she's flamboyant, she's camp, she's big, and you will slowly see she starts to crumble.

"She gets smaller and smaller and I really don't think she will ever be the same again."

On the storyline itself, Charlotte went on: "I thought it was brilliant. Lucky me, to give me my own storyline because there are a lot of people here and not everyone gets one, so it's wonderful.

"I thought it was a really important one to tell because it's a current topic at the moment. Anything that can be shown to sort of change people's views on victim blaming and things like that, anything to shine a light on it, sign me up."

Meanwhile, Justin actor Andrew Still revealed he knew some of the storyline and where it would lead, but had no idea how far it would go.

He told us: "It was a bit of a shock what was gonna be happening further down the line."

It's said his character and the storyline will get much darker as Justin turns dangerous, with the character stopping at nothing to get what he wants.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
