Coronation Street viewers were in tears as the people of Weatherfield said a sad goodbye to Johnny Connor at his funeral.
Johnny's daughter Carla and estranged ex wife Jenny both read out a moving eulogy to the former Rovers Return landlord who died last month while trying to rescue Jenny from a storm drain.
Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny, revealed that she made a blunder by carefully writing out the eulogy, but she couldn't read it without her glasses.

Sharing a photo of her speech, and beautiful handwriting, on her Instagram she said: "Thought I was being clever writing out Johnny’s eulogy but couldn’t see a thing without my specs!
"So beautifully written though by Nessah Muthy that it was a joy to learn x"

After the funeral service, Jenny knocked back wine at the wake while Carla watched with concern.
And there was a shock when Jenny learned she was the sole beneficiary in Johnny’s will and he’d left her £20,000.
As Jenny turned nasty, and alienated stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley and Carla, Corrie fans were all praising Sally Ann's performance.

In 2019 Jenny developed a drink problem at Christmas which led to her accidentally mowing Liz McDonald over in her car.
Paranoid Jenny turned to booze as as she grappled with her hatred towards her former love rival.
As former landlady Liz continued to work alongside the Connors in the Rovers, boss Jenny started to "self medicate" with alcohol.
