Corrie star petrified after being called 'inconsiderate a***hole' by neighbours

Corrie star Colson Smith says he's 'petrified' of bumping into his neighbours after having a run-in over rubbish.

Colson, who plays policeman Craig Tinker in the ITV1 soap, says he was branded an 'inconsiderate a***hole' after upsetting his neighbours over his recycling habits.

Opening up about the incident on the Sofa Cinema Club podcast, Colson, who lives with his co-star Ben Price, said he's now keeping his head down over an embarrassing incident.

The 22-year-old actor explained: "My delivery boxes I get every week I can't recycle because they've got polystyrene and ice packs in.

"I just chuck it all into one big box, recycle the other, but chuck everything else into one big box and put that in the bin."

Ben, 48, who plays Nick Tilsey in Corrie, joked that the box Colson was referring to is the size 'of another flat.'

Colson said: "I feel like knocking on everyone's door and apologising.

"We saw two empty boxes that weren't in the recycling bin and I said 'Ben, they're my boxes.'

"Somebody had fished all my rubbish out of the boxes and left the boxes. I genuinely, hand on heart, didn't realise I was doing something wrong.

"I think someone was p***ed off that it should've been put in the recycling bin.

"I'd filled up the cardboard box with rubbish and used the box itself as a bin and then chucked it in the bin. I thought I was right."

He then realised that there was a post 'ranting' about him on Facebook.

"But now the recycling bins have been locked down so you can only put it in through the little post box, and there's a post on Facebook of somebody ranting about the 'inconsiderate a***hole that's ruined it for everyone else'. That's me," he said, on the film podcast he presents with Ben and their co-star Jack P Shepherd.

He added: "I'm basically walking around the flat now, from the minute I get in the lift to the minute I get out I keep my head down. I'm petrififed.
