Corrie star jokes disaster-struck couple are still 'co-parenting' during off-screen night out

Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has joked he is still 'co-parenting' with on-screen ex as they meet up away from the cobbles.

The Billy Mayhew actor has had his fair share of heartbreak in Weatherfield and the latest disaster came at the hands of Todd Grimshaw - again.

The characters were due to get married on the ITV soap in a matter of weeks but Todd's scheming was revealed to a horrified Billy and Summer Spellman.

So a distraught Billy has now kicked Todd to the curb with the bad boy now having to bunk up with funeral director boss George Shuttleworth.

Corrie fans were full of praise for Dan last week following emotional hospital scenes with Summer as he promised it was just the two of them from now on - leaving some viewers in tears.

But the drama is definitely just on-screen as the former soap family enjoyed a night out in Manchester.

The trio of Dan, Gareth Pierce and Harriet Bibby were all smiles as they posed for the snap as they enjoyed a night of great food and a couple of drinks.

Taking to Instagram to share the snap, Dan said: "Dinner date with the gorgeous @garpierce & @harrietanneb. See, even though we’ve broken up we’re still co-parenting."

And after fans spotted a lovely accessory next to Dan, the 41-year-old jokingly added: "The bags Harriettes’ but if I was to have a bag I’d have chosen one like that."

The post left fans thrilled to see them together.

"My favourite family. Have a super night," one said.

Another commented: "Lovely photo of the three of you.love you all in Corrie. Bag suits you Daniel."

"Aww you made up," a third joked.

A fourth said: "Love this photo," as another added: "Oh such a cute photo."

But there's one person they may have forgot.

"Paul will be gutted," one viewer said referring to Billy's ex Paul Foreman.

It comes just days after the Corrie stars reassured fans that they 'love each other really' as they celebrated their 'true bromance'.

"See, we love each other really," Dan shared on Instagram alongside a selfie of the pair smiling for the camera.

"We’ve even been camping together.. @garpierce @coronationstreet," he added referring to a trip they took with more of their soap co-stars.

Dan and Gareth joined Tony Maudsley, Sue Cleaver and Julia Goulding for a mega soap camping trip earlier this month.

Gareth also shared Dan's post, simply writing: "Love you mate," alongside various stickers reading 'gone camping' and 'true bromance'.
