Corrie star Helen Flanagan reveals she was due to return to return to soap before falling pregnant with baby Charlie

Helen Flanagan was plotting a return to Coronation Street before finding out she was pregnant with her third child.

The 30-year-old has played Rosie Webster in the ITV soap on and off from 2000.

She last appeared in Weatherfield in 2018 when she left for maternity leave at eight-months pregnant with second daughter Delilah, now two.

Helen and partner Scott Sinclair are also parents to Matilda, six, and baby Charlie who was born last month.

But speaking on Tuesday's Loose Women, the Bury actress was planning to make a Corrie comeback before having to tell bosses she was expecting baby number three.

"It's really funny because as soon as my fiance moved back to play for Preston [North End], I was in talks with Corrie about going back," she said on the ITV show after being asked about a possible return by panellist Janet Street-Porter.

"But I found out I was pregnant a few days later and I had to say in my meeting I was pregnant.

"So I was going to go back but then I fell pregnant with Charlie but he's the best thing ever."

When ask if she'd consider reprising her role again when her little boy is a bit older, Helen said: "Yeah, I'd love to. I mean, I grew up on the show and I do kind of miss the excitement of that.

"But the children are only young for such a short time and I'm just really enjoying them being young and being at home."

Helen was also quizzed on her wedding plans after getting engaged to footballer Scott in 2018.

"Me and Scott have been together since 2009, we've been together forever and we have kind of done things the wrong way round.

"We've had three children first and the thing is, we are really excited about the wedding but I think it's something to look forward to as well."

She added: "Everything is just so uncertain," before adding it "might be 2023" before she walks down the aisle with many weddings being pushed back from 2020 and into 2021.

"I am really looking forward to plan that," Helen also said.
