Coronation Strete star Harriet Bibby has shared the sad reason behind her character's glam transformation.
The 23-year-old is best known for playing the role of Summer Spellman in the ITV soap.
And viewers have been watching the teen developing a crush on teacher Daniel Osbourne.
Summer was getting help from the fellow Weatherfield resident with her application for Oxford University.

But the schoolgirl ended up getting feelings for Daniel as she also babysat for his son, Bertie.
Next week, the storyline will take a sinister turn when Daniel is accused of grooming Summer.
It comes after Max Turner, who has developed his own crush on Summer, confronts his teacher at the school's winter ball.
In the scenes, Summer will be seen dressing to impress, and viewers may have noticed her already changing her look.
Speaking to The Sun's TV Mag, Harriet said of the reasons behind the change: "I think she wants to appear slightly older. She is very mature for her age but I think physically she does still feel like a young girl.
"She compares herself to Daisy. Asha and Amy are looking at Daisy’s Instagram and Summer ends up comparing herself to other people and thinks: ‘How can I make myself look prettier, or look older?’
"So she puts a bit of eyeliner on. Summer’s the kind of girl who doesn’t really know what she’s doing with her makeup but she tries her best."
There will also be fears for Summer as she deliberately skips lunch after seeing pictures of Daisy.
Harriet added to the publication: "I think image is a big thing with a lot of young women, especially with influencers on social media. We touch on that slightly when she’s going through Daisy’s instagram.
"You do compare yourself and I think Summer has started this journey with her diabetes and the medication that you have to take will change your body slightly and I think that does pile on top of her a little bit, making her skip her lunch and things like that in order to perhaps lose a bit of weight or feel a bit better about herself."
