Coronation Street star Dan Brocklebank has addressed fans after receiving plenty of congratulatory messages on his engagement.
He also took to Instagram to show off his wedding ring but of course, it's not actually Dan who is engaged.
Viewers of the ITV soap watched on Monday night as Billy Mayhew agreed to Todd Grimshaw's request to make an 'honest man' out of him.
After an initial hesitation, leading to Todd quickly leaving the flat rather red-faced, Billy turned the tables an got down on one knee to ask Todd to marry him.
But the celebrations came to a sinister end when Summer Spellman handed Todd a note which had been put through their door.
Todd opens it to read: "Don’t get too comfortable. Your lies will come out".
The fallout will see Billy's ex Paul Winter cop the blame but all isn't as it seems.
In the meantime, however, fans have been sending their best wishes to Dan following the engagement.
Sharing a close up of his sparkling wedding band on Instagram, the actor wrote: "He’s put a ring on it… @coronationstreet."
He then took to his Instagram Story with a selfie showing him looking slightly bewildered as he wrote: ""For those lovingly congratulating me on my engagement...
"It's my character in @coronationstreet, not me..."
But it didn't stop fans commenting and having their say on Billy's choices.
"Nooooooo Billy needs to see what he did - Paul is the better option," one said.
Another wrote: "Noooooooooooooooo! Billy and Paul are made for each other."
"Oh Billy I love you but we need to have a serious chat about your life choices, they’re not good for me," a third added.
A fourth said: "Needs to be Billy and Paul again.. Real Love."
Dan has also recently spoken about the reaction he gets in the streets from fans of the soap.
“The s**t I get in the street from people over this is unreal.
“When I’m out walking the dogs, ‘You should have chosen Paul, you idiot’,” Dan shouted to replicate his experience.
“I’m like, ‘I don’t write it I just b****y say it’,” he laughed.
