Corrie spoilers: Paul suspected of murder as dead body in river confirmed as Kel

Coronation Street 's upcoming episodes see a dead body retrieved in the lake being identified as that of Kel Hinchley.

Kel sexually abused Paul Foreman when he was in a relationship with Paul's mother Bernie.

Paul finds out the news about Kel's death and is conflicted and upset.

Mary and Billy call the police station to find out if the dead body was definitely Kel's and Billy tells Paul he believes it is Kel.

Paul is distraught and leaves in a hurry, and Billy Mayhew suspects it's because he murdered Kel.

Bernie is delighted at the news Kel is dead, but Billy finds Paul drinking in the park and realises he is struggling to deal with the news of Kel's death.

Later, a police officer arrives and confirms the body was indeed Kel's and he asks Paul some questions about it.

Paul remarks that he is not surprised Kel was murdered - and the police officer points out he never said that.

When Billy tentatively asks Paul what makes him think Kel has been murdered and if he had anything to do with it, Paul becomes angry and defensive.

Next, Craig Tinker calls at the flower shop flat and confirms that they’re not looking for anyone in connection with Kel’s death as it was accidental.

Billy’s relief is evident and Paul watches him, hurt and angry to realise that Billy seriously thought he had murdered Kel.

Meanwhile, the heartbreaking storyline about Leanne Battersby's son Oliver and his mitochondrial disease continues next week with a tragic twist.

The doctors tell Leanne and Steve they need to consider taking Oliver off life support.

But Leanne is desperate not to give up and speaks to a doctor in Germany who promises to help Oliver - but she has not been honest about Oliver's condition.

* Coronation Street airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV
