Corrie spoilers: Gary Windass and Ray Crosby work together to bring down the Platts

Coronation Street 's Gary Windass and villain Ray Crosby are set to team up next week with a shared goal.

The duo want to bring down the Platts, and Gary becomes Ray's accomplice as he carries out his dirty work.

Ray (Mark Frost) is trying to buy up all the properties on the street for his plans to turn the lot into a brand new development, bulldozing all the homes in its way.

Egged on by wife Maria, Gary (Mikey North) takes on the job with Ray and sets out his stall to him.

He tells Ray that he will have an easier time persuading the locals to sell their houses with him on side, and Ray is quietly impressed.

Ray tells Gary that the contract is his, and reveals his first job is to get the Platts to sell up their home.

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) admits to Gary that Ray's property mate Roxy has made an offer on his home.

He says accepting the offer would solve his current financial difficulties, but he does not want to uproot Shona and the children, especially while Shona is still recovering from her brain injury.

Gary advises David to accept the offer and take the money but see if he can rent the house back.

When Ray reveals to Gary he plans to turf David and his family out of the house Gary has a pang of guilt for encouraging his friend to sell up.

Shona assures David she’s not bothered if he sells the house so long as she’s with him.

David thanks Gary for his advice and reveals he’s spoken to Roxy and agreed to sell the house.

But he will only sell up on one condition - she has to lease it back to him.

Gail Platt (Helen Worth) is absolutely furious at this news, and Gary is forced to hide his shame.

David tries to explain to Gail that he is selling the house to an investor who’s prepared to rent it back to them, the sink hole will be fixed and the kids won’t be uprooted - but Gail remains unconvinced.

* Coronation Street airs Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm and Fridays for an hour at 7.30pm on ITV
