Corrie’s Yasmeen finally stands up to evil Geoff in epic rant as viewers applaud her

Coronation Street 's Yasmeen Nazir finally stood up to her abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe in a scene that viewers had been desperate for for months.

Yasmeen called Geoff from prison after she received a visit from a woman called Elaine who told her she had also been abused by Geoff.

Geoff refused to give any information and denied he had ever abused another woman, but Yasmeen had finally had enough of his lies.

As he began to grovel to her and tell her she was lucky to have him, she shouted: "Shut up!" at her abusive partner.

Yasmeen told Geoff she didn't care if she was found guilty because at least she never had to see him again (ITV)

"You lied to me didn't you?" she asked,

"About what"" asked Geoff, looking nervous.

"About those exes and how they treated you how they bullied you belittled you, made you feel worthless," Yasmeen replied.

"I believed you, and all the time you were projecting."

Geoff realised he had lost his power over Yasmeen, and promised she would stay in jail (ITV)

"I thought you loved me," said Geoff, and Yasmeen replied: "I did."

Geoff slammed her for not believing him over Elaine, who she doesn't know, and called her stupid.

"You manipulated me, and I fell for it, but I shan't again, I will never ever go back to you again," said Yasmeen, her voice trembling.

"And even if I'm found guilty it will be a good result, because I shan't ever have to go to bed with you, and if I'm not guilty, then the same."

Viewers were delighted at the powerful scene (ITV)

"If that's the way you want to play it, your choice bitch," Geoff spat.

"But just remember this - get used to the view from your window because you're going to be in that prison for a very very long time."

Viewers were overcome with joy as they took to Twitter to praise Yasmeen for finding the courage to stand up to Geoff.

"Yesss Yasmeen. His face when he realised he’d lost ALL control ," wrote one.

"I love Yasmeen so much. I hope she stays in #Corrie forever," remarked another.
