Corrie's Yasmeen and Elaine make horror discovery about Cathy Matthews

Coronation Street's Yasmeen Nazir and Elaine Jones make a worrying discovery about Cathy Matthews in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.

The women, who bonded over their shared survivor stories from evil Geoff Metcalfe, have been living together while Yasmeen tries to rebuild her life after Geoff's dead.

And Cathy has recently moved in with them, after she was shunned by the street for cruelly trolling Steve and Tracey online.

But her compulsive hoarding becomes an issue with Yasmeen and Elaine, who may be forced to take drastic action.

At No.6, Yasmeen and Elaine survey a pile of empty pizza boxes with revulsion, and Elaine admits she thinks it’s time Cathy started pulling her weight in the house.

Cathy ignores Brian’s phone calls and tells Yasmeen that she feels safe at her house, and then even takes delivery of an exercise bike,

Realising Cathy has no intention of going anywhere, Yasmeen and Elaine share looks of dismay.

Eleswhere, Millie Gibson has been signed on on a permanent contract on the soap for her role as Kelly Neelan, recently charged with the murder of Seb Franklin.

Millie, 16, has played the role of troubled teen Millie, fostered by Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby, since 2019.

But after winning praise for her acting, Corrie bosses are keen to keep her on the cobbles - and Millie revealed she is "over the moon".

"It's been so nice to explore different layers of Kelly, because when she first came in, she was a troubled girl looking for her dad," she said.

"It started to unfold that she had all of these other problems going on, and all of these other encounters with different characters that added to her personality and journey throughout Corrie. It's been amazing to explore Kelly.

"I never imagined this would happen but I'm over the moon.

“I just thought it was going to be a once-in-a-blue-moon experience, but I'm now part of this amazing family."

* Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
