Corrie's Toyah's exit 'sealed' as she's arrested for Imran's murder as lies exposed

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby was in for a shock on Monday night, as she was arrested for the murder of her husband Imran Habeeb.

Toyah and Imran were recently caught up in a car crash, and Imran died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

A flashback sequence did shed light on what really happened, but there are still questions needing to be answered.

It seems Toyah crashed the car on purpose, as she made no effort to swerve away from the brick wall, or push on the brakes.

It happened just as Imran confessed the truth about his lies regarding Abi Franklin in court, with Toyah telling her husband she hated him just as she crashed.

Toyah has denied knowing about Abi in the fallout, and has also denied causing the crash on purpose to harm herself or Imran.

While battling grief, viewers saw her admit she wished she had died and not Imran during his funeral service on Monday.

As she realised residents were suspicious of her, and that her past was being brought up with detectives, she took action.

She headed to the station and asked to speak to the leading detective, who has been questioning Toyah for weeks about what happened.

DS Swain is looking for evidence Toyah is lying and may have killed Imran, and on Monday she believed she had found what she needed.

As Toyah headed to the station to "cooperate" and prove her innocence, she found her lies being exposed.

Toyah had claimed she knew nothing about Imran's lie about Abi, that he didn't tell her the truth, and on Monday she said she had not been left any messages by him.

Viewers know that Toyah had received a voicemail message from him which she played back after his death before deleting it.

Toyah was caught out though, when DS Swain asked her if Imran had left any messages on her phone, before revealing they had managed to retrieve the deleted voicemail.

As Toyah pretended she had no idea about it and must have deleted it by accident, DS Swain arrested her.

She said: "Toyah Habeeb, I am arresting you on suspicion of the murder of Imran Habeeb."

So could this mean Toyah is facing time behind bars?
