Summer Spellman and Aaron Sandford’s secret is set to be exposed on Coronation Street this month.
The pregnant teenager had decided to give her baby over to newcomers Mike and Esther in exchange for a hefty sum of money, £10,000. Yet, in a tragic turn of events, Summer began bleeding and suffered a miscarriage and lost her baby - but she didn’t tell Mike and Esther.
In upcoming episodes of the long-running ITV soap, Mike and Esther innocently drop off Summer at the hospital for her next scan, but initially agree to wait outside.
However, they change their mind and Mike suddenly appears next to Summer and says he should attend the scan. Summer and Aaron had been playing for time, but now that Mike has arrived, they realise they have to tell him the truth.
Not only have they lost their baby, Summer and Aaron also don’t have the money to pay Mike back for their fee.
In a desperate attempt to raise the £10k they need, Summer asks Billy, Todd and Paul to meet her and tells them that she plans to go travelling for a year with Aaron, and needs £10k for the trip.
Billy, Todd and Paul aren’t convinced and begin to quiz Summer about her travel plans and ambitions.
Yet, things take a surprising turn when Mike and Esther approach Summer and Aaron with a new proposition.
The couple would be willing to forget about the £10k that the teenagers owe them, if Summer agrees to be the surrogate for their baby.
The young couple are shocked and Summer can’t come to a decision. Meanwhile, Billy is determined to make sure that Summer does not agree to this surrogacy plan.
In fact, he summons Mike and Esther to try and lay down the law and tell them to leave Summer out of their family planning, but Mike points out that the decision is Summer’s and not his.
As a result, Billy reveals that he intends to report them to the police, but how will Summer react? Will she go through with being Mike and Esther’s surrogate?
