Corrie's Stu actor Bill Fellows teases 'twists and turns' in murder plot as 'no one wins'

Coronation Street actor Bill Fellows has revealed new twists are in store for his character and his current dark storyline.

His character Stu Carpenter is currently trying to prove his innocence over a crime he was accused of years ago.

ITV soap fans were shocked when it was revealed that popular character Stu had done prison time for the murder of a young waitress, who he had been having an affair with.

Stu was recently arrested again following claims he had murdered the woman named Charlie in his past, and as he lost control amid the claims he left love interest Yasmeen Nazir terrified.

The police were called and he's been in prison for the past few weeks, but has finally been released and the Nazirs are trying to prove his innocence too.

Stu has always claimed he was coerced into a confession and set up for the crime, something which his new family have been trying to support him with.

But as residents remain again Stu on the street, it's been revealed there might not be a happy ending on the horizon.

Speaking to Christine Lampard on Lorraine on Friday, actor Bill teased more "twists" were ahead - and that "no one wins" in the storyline.

So will poor Stu fail to prove he did not murder Charlie, or will it end in heartache regardless?

He said: "There are load of twists and turns. Obviously people are guessing what's gonna go on, but there is so many permutations.

"No one wins and there are loads of people who get affected by this, and none of it has a happy ending in the end. It's quite tricky."

Recent scenes have seen viewers speculating over the true killer of Charlie, as Stu believes the detective of the case was behind it.

In a surprise twist, fans now believe the culprit is his ex Lucy, which is why she refuses to let Stu visit Bridget.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
