Corrie's Samia Longchambon reveals her 'gorge' new hairstyle

Coronation Street favourite Samia Longchambon has revealed her new hairstyle after lockdown.

The Eccles actress who plays Maria Connor in Corrie is sporting a new shorter, darker style after salons reopened.

Sharing a photo on Instagram of her brunette bob, she said: "Bit darker, bit shorter... Doing a double take when I catch myself in the mirror now #newhairdo #longbob."

Samia was complimented on her new style by her Weatherfield co-stars.

Alexandra Mardell who plays Emma Brooker said the look was "gorj."

Catherine Tyldesley, who played Maria's former love rival Eva Price, sent a string of love heart-eyed emojis.

Katie McGlynn who played Sinead Osbourne told her: "Love it."

And Sally Carman who plays Abi Franklin commented: "Lovely!"

"Welcome to the dark side," another follower told her.

"Gorge," said another.

The mother of two is back on the Corrie cobbles as hair stylist Maria after filming restarted at Trafford Wharf last month after lockdown was imposed.

And she was straight back into the drama as the truth about her character's fiance Gary Windass is exposed.

Next week a panicky Maria arrives at the hospital after Gary is knocked out after pushing his ex Sarah Barlow from the path of a car.

Sarah describes how she was on her phone and Gary saved her life, when she had actually discovered he had killed loan shark boss Rick Neelan and had tried to escape from him.
