Corrie's Millie Gibson caught swearing on camera as ITV co-star wins NTA gong

Coronation Street fans appeared to spot actress Millie Gibson swearing as she congratulated co-star Paddy Beaver on his win at the National Television Awards.

The 18-year-old actress appeared to be dropping the f-bomb as Paddy, 19, won the award for Best Rising Star. As the Coronation Street cast rallied around Paddy, he seemed to be in shock at winning the glittering award.

The young actor beat off fierce competition for the win, including Bridgerton's Charithra Chandran and Kit Connor and Joe Locke from Netflix hit series Heartstopper. In his acceptance speech, Beaver revealed his role as Max Turner in Corrie is his “first ever acting job”.

As the winner for Best Rising Star was announced, the camera panned to a stunned Paddy Beaver as his fellow cast members rushed to congratulate him.

Sitting behind him, sporting a blonde up do and a striking red lipstick, Millie Gibson was caught swearing as she proudly congratulated her ITV co-star on the prestigious win.

Gibson joined the cast of Coronation Street as Kelly Neelan. Her character was introduced as the daughter of established character Rick Neelan, played by Greg Wood, and she originally appeared in five episodes, before returning as a regular character in April 2020.

Since joining the soap, she has formed a close bond with the cast including 19-year-old Paddy Beaver.

Fans of Corrie rushed to Twitter to share their support for the Beaver as he appeared visibly shocked on stage to receive his award.

One viewer tweeted: "@itvcorrie well deserved, seems such a lovely lad #NTA".

Another agreed, as they wrote: "Aww! He thanked God! That’s cute. Bet he’s the first in a long time to do that. [prayer emoji] #ntas #NTAAwards #NTA."

However, some felt the award should have gone to one of the actors in the Netflix hit Heartstopper, with some saying the lead actors were "robbed".

One viewer shared: "Omg! I’m sorry but @kit_connor @joelocke03 and #Heartstopper have been completely robbed #NTA #NTAAwards. I’m now turning off to watch #heartstopper for the 847365995737 time."
