Corrie's Katie McGlynn shows off painful sunburn after basking in Bank Holiday sun

Katie McGlynn seems to have enjoyed the Bank Holiday sunshine a bit too much after she unveiled a painful burn on her back.

The Coronation Street star, 26, took to her Instagram Story to share the aftermath of taking a walk by a lake.

Sharing a snap with her 299k followers, the soap star penned: "Drumstick squashie anyone? Oops."

The snap showed the tinge of red burn on Katie's shoulders and back as she reminded everyone of just how important wearing sunscreen is.

Her burn mark is all the more odd as the lines from her sports bra seem to have shielded the smallest parts of her back.

The actress has been keeping it pretty lowkey in lockdown so far, but earlier this year surprised fans with an epic weight loss snap that had everyone talking.

The star dropped two dress sizes after switching up her eating and training regime.

She admitted she felt down about her appearance and blamed her hectic Corrie schedule and late working hours for the weight gain, so felt it was time to get back to grips of her health.

Katie - who famously played cancer-stricken Sinead Tinker - has revealed her dramatic new look came after she upped her step count to a massive 15,000 strides a day.

Katie told the Sun how the sad subject matter and intense filming left her snacking on cakes in the Corrie canteen, and creeping to a size 12.

Throwing herself into a new fitness plan and striving her a healthier lifestyle, Katie admitted she finally feels like herself again - and she looks fantastic.

Katie showed off her incredible new figure at the NTAs earlier this year, where she was crowned winner of the Serial Drama Performance.
