Corrie's Johnny has been in hiding from psycho Scott for years as dark secret exposed

Johnny Connor's secret on Coronation Street is finally coming to light, but there's something darker he's keeping from wife Jenny.

His pal Scott who he shares a history with recently rocked up to Weatherfield, but Johnny made it clear he wasn't ready to face him and fled to France.

He only returned this week, with Scott convinced he was hiding from him.

New ITV soap spoilers confirmed they did share a dark secret, as next week's episodes reveal they committed a crime together.

Details remain a secret, but it must have been bad judging by the revelations in Friday's episode.

Scott finally tracked him down, and planned to discuss something they did almost 40 years ago.

He looked pretty menacing too, before confessing he knew Johnny was trying to flee him as he was a "lunatic".

But the twist was that Johnny didn't just flee to France to hide from him, as he made an escape much earlier.

Coronation Street: Scott has been trying to track down Johnny (ITV)

Johnny has been basically on the run from Scott for years, with him trying to find him ever since it seems.

While Johnny rocked up on the street with his family back in 2015, Weatherfield was just another place for him to move on to in his bid to free himself from Scott.

He revealed how he thought he had dealt with something from his past, but it had returned to haunt him.

It's when Scott got him alone though that the horrifying truth slowly began to come out.

Johnny downplayed that he was running away from him, suggesting they were pals.

But a scary Scott seemed ready to spill the beans, leading to him asking what he wanted.

Scott said: "The truth always helps after what we did.

"Your first thought was, 'how the hell did that lunatic hunt me down', now why don’t we start over."

So it seems Scott has been trying to track Johnny down for a very long time, with Johnny in hiding to escape the psychotic character and his dark past.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
