Corrie's Jenny star swears as she shares brilliant look at sinkhole plunge

Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has shared a brilliant behind-the-scenes look at her plunge into a sinkhole.

The actress, who plays Jenny Connor in the ITV soap, took to Twitter with a video showing the moment she filmed one of her biggest stunts to date.

During Wednesday night's double trip to Weatherfield, viewers watched as Jenny was swallowed up by the Platt's sinkhole.

The giant hole into the Victorian sewer has been causing problems for more than one of the street's residents this week as a catastrophic rainstorm caused more sinkholes to appear.

Jenny's new love interest Leo was scoping out the problem amid concern the issue was being caused by the mess at the Platts.

And his suspicion was confirmed much to a horrified David and Shona.

But as Jenny went looking for Leo, concerned for his safety, she ended up being pulled below the ground as Shona watched on.

Her ex-husband Johnny quickly arrives wanting to help and makes his way down to find her.

Writing on Twitter alongside a video of the moment she filmed the sudden stop, Sally Ann wrote: "Lesson 1. How to fall down a sinkhole."

She added: "SOUND ON (even though I may swear… soz @itvcorrie and thanks @sallycarman!) ."

It shows Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin, filming the scenes, at SpaceStudio in Manchester.

She giggles from behind the camera as she asks a crew member: "Michael, do you love your job?"

Sally then interviews Sally Ann about what she's about to do before telling her "Good luck, go away!"

We then hear a screech of "yay" from Sally Ann before she says: "My heart is going like the bloody clappers.

Sally then asks her co-star to "sum up" the stunt in three words to which she replied: "F***ing ace," with a massive smile on her face.

Sally Ann has previously admitted to having a change of heart after filming ‘epic’ stunt scenes after initially being unexcited about being part of all the “Super Soap Week” action.

“How many times have I said in interviews, ‘Give me a ten-page monologue, don’t give me anything to do'," she told the Manchester Evening News and other press.

“I don’t like action, I bloody hate it,” she confessed.

However, she has since had a change of heart.

“I got there and love it. I loved every single second of it,” Sally Ann admitted.
