Corrie's Jack James Ryan says he faced 'biggest lows' in 2022 as he shares struggles

Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan shared an important message with his fans online as he looked back on 2022 on Tuesday.

The soap star, 26, admitted that while this year has blessed him with some amazing highs it has also delivered some of his biggest lows.

Jack - who Jacob Hay on the ITV soap - explained how he felt it was important to be honest with his Instagram followers, as he shared some snaps and highlights of his year.

He revealed how he doesn't know how he would have got through the year without the support of his 'incredible family and friends' as he sympathised with others who have 'struggled mentally this year'.

Jack first appeared on the cobbled streets of Weatherfield last year, playing drug dealer Jacob who was groomed by soap villain Harvey Gaskell. The actor's on-screen character has since landed himself a job at Underworld and developed a romance with Amy Barlow.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Jack looked back on his year on the soap - and shared some snippets from his personal life away from work.

"I'm continually overwhelmed by the love and support you guys have shown for the character and for me. It's been mega to see people get behind Jacob's journey," Jack wrote as he discussed his Corrie role.

"This was one of the proudest moments of my life," he told his followers as he looked back on his appearance on the ITV show.

Jack continued to share happy 2022 memories with his fans, including snaps taken at a Liam Gallagher gig, three festivals in as many days, holidays abroad and his sister's wedding.

The star then wrapped up his lookback on the year with a candid reflection on some of the lower moments he experienced throughout 2022.

"If you've made it this far I appreciate you for joining me on my journey," Jack began as he captioned a snap of himself wearing a suit.

"Evidently this year has had some amazing highs but I think it's also important to share this year has without give me my biggest lows," he explained. "If I didn't have the most incredible family and friends I simply don't know how I would've got through this year."
