Corrie's Hope actress shares sweet 'proposal' photo after being 'offended' as character brutally dumped

Hope Stape was brutally dumped by her boyfriend Sam Blakeman in Monday night's episode of Coronation Street after showing her spiteful side. Consumed by jealousy over his friendship with newcomer Eliza Woodrow, firestarter Hope caused an explosion at her birthday party by sabotaging Sam's science experiment for her.

Thankfully there was no harm done, apart from a broken heart for Hope, played by Isabella Flanagan, as Sam, played by Jude Riordan, ditched her. He told an upset Hope: "I think maybe we should have some time apart."

"Your breaking up with me?" she asked. "I just don't think it's working anymore," Sam told her bluntly. "Because of a little bit of potassium?" she asked.

"I'm sorry if you can't take a joke. I'm sorry if you're taking her side," protested Hope. And Sam cut the relationship dead with the final blow: "It's not me, it's you." A tearful Hope was left staring after him stunned, leaving her adoptive dad Tyrone Dobbs to pick up the pieces as he walked through the door.

Actor Jude responded to the scene by sharing a picture on Instagram from Sam and Hope's first date in March and said: "It's not me. It's you. DUMPED. Good job I still (heart emoji) @bellaflanaganofficial_ irl Is this the end of Sam & Hope? #corrie #corriekids #coronationstreet #samblakeman #hopestape #itsnotmeitsyou #dumped."

Isabella replied, admitting that she was 'offended' by Sam's final line to Hope, saying: "Low-key offended by your last line but I’ll get over it." And Jude said: "Hope will always have a place in my heart but she's CRACKERS!"

Over on Isabella's Instagram she shared a sweet photo of herself after the break-up scene pulling a down-on-one-knee mock proposal pose as Jude feigned surprise. "Post heartbreak but I’ll be ok (Kinda deserved it) @justjude7 #hopestape #samblakeman #breakup #younglove #coronationstreet #corrie," she typed. And Jude replied: "YESSSSS" as Isabella then added: "Sorry about your experiment."

As the praise came pouring in for the young talent, Corrie fans are now concerned for quiet Sam. Freya Rowley commented: "Hope’s gonna get payback. Rest in peace Sam." And helendoyle724 said: "Great actors,Sam watch your back, a woman scorned!! Love what ye bring to the show."

Tasha Field Levine said: "So Sam whacked a guy over the head with his telescope to save Gary... then he freaked out murderer Harvey... and now he's dumped the resident fire starter Hope... Sam's the bravest person on the cobbles. Sam can become a bodyguard or soldier with his fearless attitude." And Geraldine Mulcahy said: "Sam would want to have eyes back of head after dumping Hope."

Twelve-year-old Hope and 11-year-old Sam became boyfriend and girlfriend after bonding over traumas including Hope being slapped by Beth Sutherland.
