Corrie's Geoff Metcalfe exposed by secret abuse victim - but there's a twist

Coronation Street will air some twists and turns next week, as Yasmeen Nazir's trial looms.

She will hope to be released from prison after her attack on abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe earlier in the year.

Horror strikes though when she suffers a heart attack and is rushed to hospital, no doubt jeopardising the trial.

But it comes just as a mystery newcomer arrives in Weatherfield, with some big news for Yasmeen - with it soon appearing she is linked to people on the Street.

The prisoner is left reeling when a lady from a women's charity visits her, before telling her something pretty shocking.

It's later on in the week that Yasmeen confides in lawyer Imran Habeeb about the mystery lady.

The visitor confirms herself to be an abuse victim of Geoff's while shielding her identity.

Back on the Cobbles, a lady named Elaine is seen spying on Geoff and his son Tim Metcalfe.

She's spotted by Ryan Connor, who is dating Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya Nazir.

He sees Elaine watching them as the pair head to court but will she tell him who she is?

It comes following the recent reports that Tim's mum would make her arrival and drop some big news.

It seems the new character who visits Yasmeen, played by actress Paula Wilcox, is Geoff's ex.

She could certainly rip his lies apart if she speaks up and exposes Geoff for once and for all.

A source told The Sun : "If Yasmeen pursues the defence that she snapped after endless cruelty at the hands of Geoff, then Elaine's testimony could prove invaluable.

"But as this is Corrie it won't be plain sailing, there'll be quite a few twists and turns along the way."

So has Elaine arrived to save Yasmeen and tell Tim the truth of her own ordeal, or will Yasmeen's hopes be dashed?

The family will no doubt be stunned to hear of Yasmeen's hospital dash as they make their way to court - but will she be okay?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
