Corrie's Fiz and Phill's romance at risk as his mum endures very awkward chat with Tyrone

They haven't been dating for very long, but Fiz Brown and Phill Whittaker's romance could already be on the rocks judging by the latest Coronation Street spoilers.

ITV have revealed that things will become strained between the couple as Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) gets more and more irritated by his mother Mimi.

Next Monday, Fiz feels put out when she finds Phill and Mimi drawing up plans for his party and ordering hideous party dresses for her and the girls.

Fiz is left feeling unsupported by Phill (Jamie Kenna) and heads to the Christmas market where she starts drowning her sorrows.

Her ex Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) finds her there and she confides in him, but when Tyrone reveals that Phill has booked a surprise Christmas holiday for her and the girls, Fiz is delighted.

Back at home Fiz makes her feelings about Mimi clear to Phill, but how will he react to being caught in the middle?

A few days later, Fiz manages to get through the party but when Mimi reveals that her special gift to Phill is the fact she’s moving to Weatherfield, Fiz’s heart sinks.

Clocking Fiz’s discomfort at the party, Tyrone drags Mimi into the kitchen where he delivers a few home truths about her behaviour.

Asserting that Phill is the luckiest man alive to be with Fiz, the pair then head back to the party but Mimi is mortified when she realises that she left her microphone on - but what has been heard by everyone at the party?

Towards the end of the week, Phill reveals that his boiler has been fixed which leads Fiz to suggest that it’s time he moved back home.

Phill is gutted but masks his disappointment as he leaves Fiz. Will their romance survive the struggles with Mimi? Or is it over before it's even really begun?

Fiz was left heartbroken earlier this year when Tyrone caught feelings for Alina Pop and ended up leaving her for the younger woman.

However, since their romance broke down, Tyrone has made it clear how he feels for Fiz and is clearly keen for them to reconcile.

But during her heartbreak, Fiz met Phill after joining an online dating website and their dates soon turned into a relationship.
