Corrie's departing star Emma Brooker star all smiles amid final scenes while cosying up to Ted's grandson

Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell has been spotted filming scenes that could prove a fan theory right.

It comes ahead of the actress leaving the soap in April.

It was announced last week that Alexandra will be leaving Corrie and waving goodbye to her character Emma Brooker.

The bubbly character made her debut in Weatherfield in 2018 as an apprentice hairdresser at Audrey Roberts' salon.

But after four years, Alexandra has made the decision to leave the cobbles.

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod hinted it may not be a permanent exit in his statement following the news.

He said: "Big-hearted Emma has found herself in a massive pickle - one which will ultimately cause her to wave goodbye to the cobbles.

"At least for now…"

And spoiler pictures may mean Emma leaves with a new love interest.

Alexandra, 28, has been snapped filming alongside Jordan Ford Silver who first appeared in the soap last month as Ted's grandson.

Ted is the elderly gentleman who was knocked over while Emma was in the car and Faye Windass was at the wheel.

While Ted got back up from the knock and invited the girls back to his home for a brew, they later found him dead in his armchair.

Faye and Emma decided to keep quiet until a police investigation was launched into his death.

Last month things took a turn when Faye confessed everything to boyfriend, and police officer, Craig Tinker after he showed her an e-fit of someone they're looking to talk to in connection with Ted's death - and joked it looked like Emma.

Meanwhile, Emma was at Ted's funeral - despite Faye warning her not to go - and ended up talking to Ted's heartbroken grandson.

Following the episode, Corrie fans thought it was 'obvious' that Emma would start dating Jon.

The pair have now been spotted filming scenes - and they look rather cosy.

In some of the images, Alexandra can be seen in her character's bright purple coat over a pretty pink flowery blouse and white jeans.

She was arm-in-arm with Jordan whose character was dressed casually in a pair of black jeans and a matching black denim jacket.

The grinning actors were also seen sharing a chat between takes as they kept warm in their red and blue puffer jackets that Corrie stars are often found wearing in the Manchester weather.

It has already been confirmed that her final scenes will be filmed this month and that they'll be shown on the ITV soap in April.

Emma has had an interesting time on the cobbles.

She had no idea that she was working and living on the same street as her biological father Steve McDonald as it emerged that his ex Fiona Middleton was her mum.

At Christmas she went through heartache when her fiance Curtis Delamere, who suffered factitious disorder in which someone deceives others by appearing sick, was wrongly accused of stealing £100,000 meant for a charity in memory of her half brother Oliver Battersby.

She sent him packing on what was meant to be their wedding day only to discover that he had been innocent all along and the money had gone through later due to a technical fault.

As she tracked him down, she was further heartbroken to discover that Curtis hadn't changed and still believed he was suffering from a heart condition.
