Corrie's Damon Hay forced to quickly flee Weatherfield following Adam's revenge

Coronation Street aired some dramatic scenes as Damon Hay was forced to make a swift exit from Weatherfield.

Damon and Sarah Platt's affair has come to light and Adam Barlow took revenge into his own hands.

Adam went to great lengths to make sure his wife and Damon never make contact again.

He knew that Damon, played by Sam Robertson, was involved in the insurance scam that left Paul Foreman facing an injury and went out of his way to find out who lead the whole operation.

Adam ended up meeting up with Niall and lied to him about Damon, claiming he was planning to hand him to the police to get a lighter sentence for another 'crime'.

The lies worked as Niall and his crew were out for Damon's blood.

Adam told Damon about the lies and it left the latter freaking out and quickly fleeing Weatherfield for good.

Damon tried to leave Sarah a voicemail warning her about Adam, but Adam got to it first during his and her date night at home.

"Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what Adam is capable of," he said. "Take care Sarah and mind yourself with him."

Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah, previously discussed her character's saucy affair with Damon.

"I actually quite like the idea that maybe they can’t be together, they should be together but now circumstance has damaged their relationship and it’s hard to get that back as much as they might want to," she explained of the situation.

Before the scenes aired, Tina said it was all just 'the tip of the iceberg.

"It's messy and it's about to get more messy," she said.

"There's going to be a troubling time that she realises she is with child but she is unsure as to who the father of the child is going to be. That's the mess, here comes the box being opened, and then she's thinking: 'Was it even worth it? Of course it wasn't,'" she added.
