Coronation Street star Maxiumus Evans has been at the centre of the intense drama during Super Soap Week as his character Corey Brent had a face-off with Abi Franklin.
The congratulations came pouring in for the actor who plays teen yob Corey over Super Soap Week, which saw Corey end up trapped in a Victorian drain in the middle of a storm with a vengeful and despairing Abi brandishing a loaded gun.
On Wednesday night many fans took to social media to complain that they couldn't hear the highly-charged exchange between Abi, played by Sally Carman, and her son Seb's teen killer.

Viewers said they resorted to switching on subtitles because they couldn't make out what was being said over the sounds of swirling water.
Maximus messaged on Twitter to thank viewers for their kind comments while making a good-humoured nod to the complainers.

"As always, thank you all for the kind words. A week of freezing my a*** off with @sallycarman was definitely worth it…I think," he said with a freezing-face emoji.
He added: "And don’t worry, we couldn’t hear each other either."
"I cannot understand a word of this," one soap watcher complained.

"I would never normally criticise #Corrie (you know that), but that was appalling.
"Couldn't make out a word #Abi was saying. The sound mix with the water was very poor," complained another.
Fans saw the pair eventually rescued from the drain by Roy Cropper with Corey declaring that he was going to bring Abi down for attempted murder.
And one Corrie viewer praised: "I could hear everything thought it was really frightening. Loved the scene at the end between Abi and Roy once he rescued her."
Another told him: "You both played brilliant parts. Enjoyed every moment. Thank you for keeping us on the edge. What's going to happen next?"
Another viewer, who put the subtitles on, said: "Brilliantly acted by both of you though in very difficult conditions.
"Corey is a great villain! You’ve created a memorable monster indeed, Maximus! Well done!"
And another praised: "Well said... Great response to all the 'moaners.'
"Well done everyone."
