Corrie's Andy Whyment narrowly missed out on I'm A Celebrity victory - voting figures have been revealed

Andy Whyment narrowly missed out on I'm A Celebrity victory, newly-released voting figures have revealed.

Queen of the jungle Jacqueline Jossa only just beat the Corrie star by a margin of just 1.2 per cent.

ITV has released the official percentages from the Sunday’s final.

More than 11m people voted for their winner.

In the final vote, Jacqueline received 50.61 per cent, while Andy was just behind her with 49.39 per cent.

Earlier in the episode, the first vote - which saw Roman Kemp voted out of camp - saw Jacqueline receive 36.97 per cent, while Andy was a bit further behind on 33.89 per cent.

Radio DJ Roman received 29.15 per cent.

Andy, who plays hapless Kirk Sutherland on the cobbles, became favourite to win the reality show on the day he entered as a late arrival, but was beaten at the eleventh hour by Jacqueline.

Andy delighted fans with his antics, including his hysterics during his first trial and his Dingo Dollar Challenge with Caitlyn Jenner, which saw an accent barrier come between the American and the Salford-born actor.

Andy, who first set foot on the street in 2000, said on ITV's Lorraine he is ‘humbled’ by how people have got behind him as opposed to his on-screen persona.

He said: “It felt weird the fact that I have been in Coronation Street for 19 years and walking along the streets people say, look there’s Kirk.

“To know that so many people have got behind Andy Whyment it’s meant so much to me, I was really humbled by that.”
