Coronation Street's Alya Nazir fears the worst for her grandmother Yasmeen next week, ahead of her looming trial.
Yasmeen could be tempted to reunite with husband Geoff Metcalfe, as the abused and manipulated character hears from him.
He offers her a plea and a deal amid her prison turmoil, and it isn't long until Alya finds out.
But she fears Yasmeen will take Geoff up on his new claims to her, still under his influence and blaming herself for recent events.
Yasmeen was arrested after a brutal attack saw her stab husband Geoff in the neck with a broken glass bottle, while it was in self-defence.
Geoff had isolated her and controlled her for months, by keeping her in the house, forcing her to clean constantly and stealing her money - isolating her from her loved ones.
Events led to the deadly attack, and Yasmeen has been in prison ever since - while at a recent court hearing she pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
Next week, she finally speaks to Geoff after being unsure whether to talk with him when he tries to contact her in prison.
He tells her that he can forgive her for everything and will even drop his statement with the police, on one condition.
Geoff asks Yasmeen to get back with him and fix their marriage, even saying he will get professional help.
It's clear the character knows the walls are closing in, and is trying to stop the trial from happening - but the police inform him that it's up to the CPS whether the charges can be dropped.
Yasmeen is torn by their conversation and the prospect of leaving prison and getting back with him.
After learning Geoff has retracted his statement, Alya is even more shocked when Yasmeen phones her and tells her what he said.
But she is worried what Geoff is up to when her grandmother confesses she's questioning his words, and whether it means he's truly sorry for everything he did to her.
Realising she is considering taking her abusive husband back, Alya doesn't know what to do.
As Geoff makes contact with her again and promises things will change, will Yasmeen reunite with him?
