Corrie's Alan Halsall & Tisha Merry's travel hell as flight delays leave them 'stuck in New York'

Coronation Street stars Alan Halsall and Tisha Merry were left in travel hell this week as they suffered flight delays on their way home from a luxury holiday in the Dominican Republic.

The couple spent a week sunning themselves in the Caribbean but were left battling to get back due to trouble with their flights.

They had to fly back via New York and the fed-up actors were left waiting for several hours at the airport.

Tisha expressed her fury in a series of posts on Instagram, with one declaring that only wine would make the situation better.

She wrote: "Wine, please get me through this."

Tisha added: "Stuck in New York airport AND we’ve already be travelling for 12 hours! Help!...

"By the time we get home, we will have been on 3 planes and been travelling for over 24 hours!...

"At least I can say I’ve been to The Big Apple?!"

It comes after the pair spent a week sharing smug snaps from their luxury break in the sun.

Tisha shared a picture of the pair kissing on the beach posing with two parrots.

She wrote: "Paradise is only paradise when you’re there  @alanhalsall."

Another picture showed her relaxing by the pool with a book, writing; "Yet again I am totally lost in the world of Stephen King!

"There really is no greater feeling than lying beside the pool with a book in hand, and a Prosecco by your side.

"Here’s to no responsibilities... Cheers!"
