Corrie's Alan Halsall on falling in love with co-star Tisha Merry and co-parenting with his ex

Corrie actor Alan Halsall has opened up about falling in love with his co-star Tisha Merry and co-parenting with his ex wife.

The Salford actor has revealed his relationship with Tisha developed naturally and started out as friendship.

Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, says he and Tisha lived less than a mile away from each other in Worsley and found they had a lot in common.

"I’d really got into hot yoga and someone mentioned that Tisha was going to the same studio so I thought we could go together.

"We got on so well and after that we spent a lot of time together," he says in a new interview with OK! magazine.

Tisha played waitress Steph Britton in Corrie from 2013 to 2016 and made a brief return to Weatherfield in 2018.

The pair played badminton, enjoyed walks and went for dinner together.

They enjoyed nine months of friendship before their relationship developed into romance over a bottle of wine and a game of Scrabble, and Tisha moved into the the six-bedroom home that Alan designed in Worsley.

It was reported that Alan and Lucy-Jo, who played Katy Harris in Corrie, had split in 2018.

In May last year he and Tisha went public with their romance, sharing a photo of the couple laughing together at co-star Sam Aston's wedding.

In April Alan shared a snap of them together and declared his love as they marked their first anniversary and he wrote: "1 year. 12 months. 52 weeks. 365 days. 8760 hours. 525,600 minutes. 31,536,000 seconds.......& I’ve loved every second.

"What a difference a year makes and what a difference you make to my life!!

"Happy anniversary @missdrewmerry93 I love you."

In February Alan appeared to lash out at Lucy-Jo's partner Lewis Devine when he referred to Sienna on Instagram as 'Our Sienna.'

Speaking about co-parenting he said: "There’s always going to be ups and downs with a blended family. So long as Sienna comes first in all of it, that’s all that matters."
