Corrie in hit and run cover-up as Shona leaves Todd for dead and David is arrested

Coronation Street viewers may have thought there was enough drama on those cobbles - but wait until next week arrives.

Shona and David Platt are set to be embroiled in a hit and run cover-up after a parking war on the street worsens.

And Todd ends up being left for dead.

This week, Shona and Todd are set for unexpected Weatherfield street war when the pair end up in a row over parking.

Fed up with vehicle chaos, Shona produces some homemade parking tickets and when Todd dumps the hearse outside number eight, Shona slaps one on the windscreen.

But Todd is quick to tell her she is committing fraud and is annoyed to find the hearse covered in shaving foam.

Then next week in Weatherfield, Shona lets herself into No.8 in her dressing gown and confesses to David she went to move his car but in the process she hit something, panicked and drove off.

David’s shocked but finding no evidence at the scene of the accident they shrug it off and ask Abi Franklin to mend the dent in the car at the garage.

But meanwhile, Eileen tells Billy that Todd has been the victim of a hit and run and is in hospital.

Later, Shona admits that she was driving the car, she knew she’d hit something but just panicked.

Abi reluctantly agrees not to go to the police and over in the the hospital, a battered and bruised Todd tells Eileen he can’t remember much about the accident.

David assures Shona that he’s hidden the car and plans to pay Todd a visit in hospital to test the water and see how much he remembers.

But soon, Craig Tinker is calling at No.8 and informs David that they found his car dumped in a pub car park miles away and with a huge dent in it.

David does his best to remain calm and once PC Tinker has left, David and Shona mull over their options.

The calm doesn't remain for too long, however, as Sarah Barlow soon witnesses Craig arresting her brother on suspicion of failing to stop and report a road traffic accident.

Craig interviews David at the police station and reveals that the paint fragments on Todd’s clothes match those of the car.

But he later tells David new evidence has come to light and he is free to go.

Have Shona and David got away with it? Or will it come back to haunt them?
