Corrie fans worry as they predict affair for teen Summer and mentor Daniel

Coronation Street's Summer Spellman, believed to be aged 16, has developed a major crush on her neighbour Daniel Osbourne, who has been mentoring her amid her hopes for university.

Now, ITV soap fans are worried the teenager and Daniel, thought to be 26 years old, will embark on an affair.

Summer is currently dating school pal Aadi Alahan, while Daniel has been enjoying an on/off romance with barmaid Daisy Midgeley.

But with Daniel and Summer growing closer, viewers are picking up on "weird vibes" that something might happen between them.

Summer has a crush, and has been offering to babysit his son Bertie in exchange for him helping her with her studies - all so she can spend more time with him.

In the latest episode of Corrie, it was clear Summer was faking her happiness with Aadi, and was actually into Daniel - with this set to be made more obvious in a misunderstanding that will air on Tuesday.

When Adam Barlow tells his uncle Daniel that it's clear he and Daisy like each other, Summer overhears and assumes he means her.

She also believes Daniel might be in love with her, after a comment about his late wife Sinead - with Summer again wrongly assuming she is the topic of discussion.

Taking to Twitter, viewers predicted there could be a shock romance ahead - with many fans begging the soap to just not go there.

One viewer commented: "What age is Summer? There's weird vibes going on with Daniel and it's getting gross..."

Another said of the possible new storyline: "Not here for this Daniel and Summer love storyline"

A third viewer added: "Summer has a crush on Daniel. I hope he ignores it."

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Summer and Daniel vibes.. to be honest teacher pupil relationships have happened that many times it doesn’t come as a shock as it probably should anymore in these shows."

Other fans believed it would remain one-sided, with a tweet reading: "Summer has got the hots for Daniel," and another saying: "Summer getting a crush on Daniel."
