Corrie fans were saying the same thing as Gail kicked Nick out over heartbreaking decision

Nick Tilsley made a heartbreaking decision on Coronation Street as his partner Leanne Tilsley faces drugs lord Harvey Gaskell in court.

The father-of-one, who discovered last year that he had a secret son Sam with his ex Natasha Blakeman, made an impossible choice between staying with Leanne or his only child in Monday night's Corrie.

He warned Natasha that Leanne was going to give evidence against Harvey and it would be best if she and Sam moved back to London for their own safety.

Nick, played by Ben Price, thought he was doing the right thing.

But his mum Gail was absolutely horrified and told Nick that for Sam’s sake he should leave Leanne.

The Weatherfield matriarch told him she couldn't understand his decision to send his son away.

Nick explained that he was making the sacrifice to keep the 10-year-old safe.

But Gail thought he was doing the wrong thing standing by Leanne instead of moving to the capital with Sam.

And to show her disgust she frostily kicked him out of the house.

Corrie fans flocked to Twitter to agree that Gail was right.

"Gail is right Nick should of stayed with Sam to protect him and take care of him. Nick should not of gone on the run with Leanne," said one.

"Love you Gail so spot on," said another.

"Spot on Gail!" cheered another.

And they added: "Nick should be with Natasha!"

"The best advice Gail has ever given to Nick," another commented.

Nick went into hiding with Leanne and her adopted son Simon Barlow after the pair became embroiled in Harvey's murky world.

Leanne took over selling drugs from Simon, who got roped in to make money when Leanne was out of work following the death of her toddler son Oliver.

The doting mum then agreed to testify against Harvey and spent time in a secret hideout in the run up to his trial on a witness protection scheme.
