Corrie fans want to buy naked charity calendar for real - this is what soap bosses say

Soap fans are loving Coronation Street's comedic storyline where the menfolk of Weatherfield are being persuaded to take part in a naked calendar shoot for charity.

So much so that they are now demanding that soap bosses put the finished calendar on sale in real life.

Corrie fans have watched all week as Emma (Alexandra Mardell) and Curtis (Sam Retford) have been seen persuading 12 of the street's most famous male residents to take part in the risque shoot - by hook or by crook.

And next week, sneak preview photos have shown how the chaps are all looking as they strip down to their birthday suits for the fun calendar shoot.

That includes soap icons mechanic Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in a jaunty sombrero and a nod to his legendary old moustache, while shop boss Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) is seen looking Bacchus-like with a crown of grapes on his head.

And it has certainly ignited the interest of soap fans - who are saying the show should now put the finished calendar on sale for real - and potentially raise thousands for a charity.

Viewer John Hughes tweeted: "Has anyone considered actually producing this calendar - even a "fully clothed" version, featuring various cast? I'm pretty sure it would be well received, produced and purchased in the right spirit... and profits could go to @4Lilyfoundation, Just a thought, #Corrie..."

Another fan said: "I hope Corrie sell it for charity, they're just in time for Christmas!"

While a third added: "Is this calendar actually available? I'd buy it. If it was for charity. Not perving purposes. Obvs. #Corrie "

With so many people keen to know if the calendar might be available, we approached Corrie to find out whether it really could go on sale.

A spokeswoman told the MEN: "It is wonderful that the viewers are so engaged with this storyline.

"Sadly for those keen to buy the calendar there are no plans to make them available.

"However there is still lots of fun to be had with this storyline in the coming weeks, with a bit of a twist in the tale on the day the calendar is revealed to the residents."

Ah well, there's still plenty of time for them to change their mind before Christmas...
