Corrie fans think something is missing as Corey is charged over Seb's murder

Coronation Street fans were cheering as the long arm of the law finally caught up with killer Corey Brent.

The teen yob was charged with GBH and murder over the tragic death of Seb Franklin who was set upon by a gang last month with his girlfriend Nina Lucas in harrowing Corrie scenes last month.

While many viewers were celebrating other Corrie fans were left confused when Seb's mum Abi got the call to say he'd been charged.

"Hang on, have I missed something? How have they suddenly got the evidence that Corey’s a killer?" asked journalist Roz Laws.

The net has closed in on Seb (ITV)

"Last I remember, the police knew he’d gone to some alley in the middle of the night."

"#Corrie charged Corey without finding the evidence??" asked another fan.

And another wondered: "Is Abi and Aasha's evidence enough to send Corey down for Seb and Nina's attack?"

Asha played detective (ITV)

On Friday the net closed in on the school boy, played by actor Maximus Evans in the ITV soap, when Abi and his girlfriend Asha Alahan drugged him to go through his phone after he had denied having anything to do with Seb's death.

A health app on his phone showed him visiting an alleyway on the night of the attack before returning two days later with a rucksack.

Corey and his mates went after Seb and Nina (ITV)

He then went to the river, which prompted Asha to hand the phone over the police telling them to check the GPS.

When he was told divers were searching for the rucksack, Corey admitted he did throw it in the river to dispose of his bloodied tracksuit but claimed he had tried to help Seb.

"Thank goodness Corey has been charged, about time," one fan cheered on Twitter.

"Thank God that Corey has been charged! The cocky little murderer!" exclaimed another.

"Corey being charged for GBH and murder is the best news I’ve heard all year! Now he can hopefully spend the rest of his miserable, pointless life rotting in jail," said another.

"Corey's been charged...took a while but the police got there in the end," another fan celebrated.

However there was heartache for Abi and Nina when Corey was granted bail while awaiting trial.
