Coronation Street was rocked by a shock arrest as Michael Bailey was arrested on suspicion of child abduction, but all was certainly not what it seemed.
In dramatic scenes on the ITV soap doting dad Michael was accused of taking baby Tianna.
He disappeared with Tianna when her mum Grace Vickers rejected his proposal of marriage and threatened to leave for Spain.
Police swooped on the cobbles and he was bundled away to the police station - and then came a major plot twist.
As Michael, played by Ryan Russell, explained the situation with Grace, played by Kate Spencer, police sent an expert in to quiz him about his mental health.
He didn't understand why this was necessary.
But then it was explained that Grace, who was pregnant before she reappeared in Michael's life, is not Tianna's mother.
"Her mother is called Lisa she's with her now," he was told.
And Michael struggled to take in the news, as did fans of the soap.
"I NEVER expected that," tweeted one.
"I guessed that Michael wasn't father, but I didn't expect that Grace was just the nanny, excellent twist!" said another.
"Wow! didn't see that one coming," commented another viewer.
"Omg! Literally in shock," said another.
"We think that Grace has been pretending that Tianna is her child and that you're Tianna's father."
Michael was then told that Grace is actually Tianna's nanny and a man he challenged outside the police station, thinking he was the one she was moving to Spain with, is the baby's real father.
Viewers saw Michael and his ex Grace recently become a couple again after she came back into his life with baby Tianna. And Michael was elated when she referred to him as her daddy.
But when he popped the question Grace was horrified, claiming she had found another man and was moving to Spain.
Charges have been dropped by the family after it was realised that Michael knew nothing about Grace's deception.
"I'm sorry to say she's been using her time with the child to use you," he was told by police.
