Corrie fans shocked by 'filthy' pre-watershed innuendo

Corrie fans in lockdown were delivered some much needed laughs during Friday night's episode.

Viewers settling down to watch the soap at 7.30pm were stunned by a 'filthy' line delivered by Rula Lenska, who plays posh Claudia Colby.

Soap watchers did a double take, and watched again to make sure, after Claudia made a remark about her partner Ken Barlow.

"He likes to slip in a couple of lengths in the afternoon," she told his friend Norris Cole, referring to Ken going swimming at their retirement complex.

But the line sounded saucy to many viewers who were roaring laughing.

Karen and Allan Pullar were among those who had to rewind to watch again.

"How did Norris keep a straight face after that revelation?" laughed Karen.

Fan 'Ken Barlow' on Twitter said: "Don't know which @itvcorrie writer wrote that line about 'slipping in a couple of lengths in the afternoon' but it woke up my Twitter."

"Ken Barlow likes to slip in a few lengths. #filth," tweeted another fan.

"That #coronationstreet is pure filth!! Ken Barlow likes to slip in a couple of lengths in the afternoon???" gasped another.

Another viewer commented: "Ken Barlow 'Likes to slip in a couple of lengths, in the afternoon. No mean feat for a man of his age'. Great double entendre on tonight's Corrie."

"Literally crying! #Camp" said another.

And another fan asked: "Did I just hear correctly? Did Rula Lenska really say of Ken Barlow..'he likes to slip in a couple of lengths in the afternoon'?!"

Ken and Claudia recently moved to Still Waters to start a new life away from Coronation Street.

While Claudia is embracing life at their luxurious new home, Ken is more sceptical.
