Coronation Street confirmed Debbie Webster was working with villain Ray Crosby to target the street on Monday night - but there was another big shock.
The character recently returned to the ITV soap full-time after decades away, to stay with her brother Kevin.
She clashed with his girlfriend Abi Franklin, as she remained coy over the secret business that brought her to Weatherfield.
Viewers were suspicious she could be the mystery Roxy helping Ray to buy out the Street, wanting to get rid of the properties for the land.
It's now known he isn't alone in his plan to destroy the street and to target those who live there - Debbie has been helping him, and that wasn't all.
Monday night confirmed that not only did they know each other, but they were former lovers.
Then came the bombshell that they were in business together working on the same investment - that being to buy out all the properties on part of the street for the land.
Debbie was furious though when she learned her brother had been victim to this.
Ray explained that she was the one who told him to buy out her brother's garage though, but for her she couldn't accept the fact he'd blackmailed him to do so.
He then confirmed it was her job to get Geoff to sell up - while it wasn't clear if he meant the house or the restaurant.
It was most likely the house though, as Debbie was also tasked with getting Sally and Tim to sell up their own house - something she will encourage later this week.
The episode confirmed Debbie's mystery business was helping Ray, while more details are soon to be revealed.
Viewers couldn't believe she would betray her own family, and while many predicted the twist plenty of others did not see it coming.
Earlier on in the episode, it was hinted she was linked to Ray when she was suspicious over Abi's former romance with him.
Not only that but she made a mystery phone call to someone about a secret.
She had just spun Kevin and Abi a lie about her being betrayed by a man, with her apparently losing everything to him.
